invisible don's week of slacking continued part four

Back to Monday 12-22 continued
Well Dinner was good in the combined efforts of the two chefs working in two different kitchens 11 miles apart. Oh yes this is true. One of my kids said the food was disgusting and to children ages 11, 9, 7, 6 and 3 it was not what they would want. So whichever of my blessed souls said “Ew, this is disgusting!” Caused a chain reaction of the food is nasty chorus at the children’s table. This was further compounded by the TV being on no child listening to a parent, so I turned off the TV. Simple enough right. Well 4 of the 5 saw the logic in my action and immediately sat back down grumbling a little but sitting and eating none the less. All save one child who decided to throw a fit at this point. The world had ended for this child. I was chastised and asked do you like it better now? Well of course I like it better now I’m the King of the Bastards I’ve made a child cry my day is complete and I can rest easy now.
No of course I don’t like it better now but I’ll be drinking soon so it will all be good momentarily and at the point I think I did excuse my self from the table to fix a rather stout Bourbon and Coke and had a rather delightful flashback of the cashier while I was making said beverage. During that time the child was calmed down and the TV turned back on as promised and the food is nasty chorus had ended and all the little children decided that having entertainment was better than not having entertainment while choking down disgusting food.
Dinner ended and now it was present time. Yes I know the 22nd is not Christmas but that was when all of the clan could be together so that is when we did the thing. So the gift giving began and shreds of paper filled the air. The beta unit had attempted to have some order in things while the gifts were being opened but that lasted through the first round of gifts.
Every child was happy and of course opened something with small pieces which would most likely be lost on the way to respective homes and cause much wailing again.
The children and adults played the rest of the evening. Doodle got the Nick trivia game. The other one and I watch too many cartoons because we knew the answers to a lot of things.
Then the kids were off to bed and the adults were not far behind.
Tuesday 12-23
I woke up the next day having one of those dreams that you dream you are exactly where you are in the world at that moment doing exactly what you are doing sleeping and then being awoken by something. Well there I was sleeping in the room I was sharing with stunt boy and in runs the Beta Unit screaming “WTF is up with this online thing you write!” and stomps out of the room. OH fuck. Ok now I’m awake. Now the question is did I just dream that or did that really just happen. The first clue should have been that you don’t normal observe yourself in a situation in your life and I was seeing it all from the corner of the room. Well it didn’t take long to convince myself that I had dreamed that and it didn’t really happen but oh god that wasn’t a refreshing way to wake up.
Much of the rest of that day was spent packing at one end of the trip and unpacking at the other end of the trip and then driving back to the ‘Noke from west by god.
Nothing much exciting happened at that point. The other one lent me his copy of “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown – which I have since completed. And have looked at the painting and said huh I’ll be damned
Back in the ‘Noke I already have a message from CPG and she was nasty on it YOU NEED TO CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON FOR THE HOLIDAYS. YOU NEED TO CALL ME AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO TOWN.
Well Merry Christmas to you too CPG. Well I waited like 30 minutes to call her and explained that I had already told her that the kids would be at my house until 1 or 2 on Christmas day and then you (CPG) could pick them up and they can either spend the night with you or you can bring them back to my house that night either way works for me. – Well she is nasty in her FINE and hangs up. OK then glad to see the holiday spirit is festive in your heart this year. Well the kids and I ended up playing late and then went to bed
Wednesday 12-24
This was spent playing all day. Doodle had a few friends over and she visited some too. Stunt boy and I hung out most of the day playing his games. He was asking every couple of minutes if he could open a new present.
That was pretty much the whole day reading, playing games and watching movies.
Christmas is coming ………..in the next installment of invisible don stay tuned.
