The Adventures of Doodle and Stuntboy part 98

Long time no write, no real reason for this I just haven’t taken the time to write. Then as the time lengthens from entry to entry I feel that the come back thing should be something amazing, then again what do I have to say that is really amazing just too much pressure. Then there has to be a sufficient amount of time to pass then the expectations of amazing go down and then I can write again.



So that brings us to today and the writing thing as not much new is going on in the world of me I have to invade the past to have anything of note to talk about.



The new Muppet movie ads have provided just the thing. I haven’t seen and I don’t think poorly of anyone who has happened to see it, my kids are beyond that style of cinema and I have no real love of Kermit and gang unless you are talking about Janice from the band but she is in the wheelhouse … but that isn’t where we are going with things



The ads include Fozy the Bear’s catch phrase Wocka Wocka



Which was something doodle would say when she was about 3



She just didn’t go around muttering Wocka Wocka if she had done that we would have taken her to be checked



No, doodle would run around telling knock, knock jokes… mostly really bad and not funny knock, knock jokes.



Her favorite to tell was



Knock, Knock

Who’s there?

Dwayne

Dwayne who?

Dwayne the bathtub I’m drowning



LOL



Then the zinger



Wocka, Wocka



After every single joke she would mutter the wocka, wocka because after the one hundredth rendition of Dwayne it is hard to muster a good fake chuckle but the zinger wockas would really get a laugh and a real one too



Then she would run off to play something else for a bit and then when she felt it was time to check up on her parents to make sure they were not in any trouble she would come back in to see what we were doing.



She was and remains fairly independent and a pretty witty and smart person as well.



In other news



Stunt boy is pretty quick witted as well but on a different level he zaps you with the in moment things like once I was saying I don’t really enjoys musicals because no one just breaks into song in their everyday lives.



Stunt boy was in the car but not a part of the conversations and says ask me how my day was



I asked him, how was your day?


You guessed it he breaks into a song about how is day has been just splendiferous.



That of course is just impossible not to enjoy especially when it is from your own kid.

What's your nickname?

This past week was my week with Stuntboy. How it works see, it that he spends a week with me and then one with his other parental unit, who is normally referred to in blog as CPG. BTW, CPG is nothing dirty…well the initials don’t mean anything dirty. No they are not her real initials either. Most everyone in the blogs gets a nickname in here except the nanimals … well some of the animals have and others have not. And in the case of yard kitty you have to be dead and buried in the yard to be yard kitty.

Nicknames are not the point of this issue.

Stunt boy is a very witty kid. His sister, Doodle is as well. They are both very quick with a quip or a funny thing to say. We joke around and play with words and make up stuff all of the time. If you ever see Doodle ask her to do her Penelope character.

This week Stunt boy and I we made a rap song into the ABC song – the real song is really about gettin’ busy in the club … I don’t know the name of the real song but it was funny and a light hearted way to start the school day.

He thinks I should write a book and do cartoons. I’m not terribly talented with the drawing stuff but it keeps my happy to doodle around.

He should consider doing something more with his talents, I encourage but let him find his own way.

Our weeks are generally filled with various things, favorite TV, jokes, internet stuff, both of us are gamers so we play video games but lately we’ve been taking a bit of a break from them but I’m sure we’ll be back into them soon. And the hollering minor swears and noob will ring at our TV’s

So we will be talking about anything and make a joke but not usually about anyone expense.

We were watching something on how to do greener things (i.e. saving the environment) One of the things recommended was hanging clothing out side to dry… the gain was less electricity use and that clothing would smell like sunshine.

Stunt boy quickly adds. Yeah…sunshine and poverty

Now while we laughed I will say that we are very eco friendly here and recycle a lot and do a lot of other things to keep our use of electricity to a minimum. But we can still make fun of our hippy ways. Hey, if you can’t laugh at your self you shouldn’t laugh at others…unless they fall down. We have a good time together.

In other news

Then we went to see the movie ‘Rango’, which we both really like and the homage to fear and loathing in the first few minutes. I will have to at some point go to IMDB and look at the list of Depp films and see if there were others in all of that.

However we both left our phones at home, which I thought, oh hey just like the olden days when there wasn’t a choice about if you took your phone with you when you were out. And amazing as it may seem the world kept on spinning. In fact there were probably more useful and amazing things invented thought of and created before the cell phone made each of slaves to every little annoying thought of the people around us. It is just too easy to bother the shit out of people now.

How did we do it? How in the world did we ever survive without cell phones? Oh yeah we made decisions or we waited.

In other, other news

Today was the last Monday for the last of the crew at my work place.

See two years… see three years ago at work there were five of us who hung around on the block. Then there were four… then three … then two… now It’s just me well in four more days it will be just me. But don’t be sad, I still have Hoover, the violence twins, and some others without nicknames yet. Maybe nicknames was the point? Oh well I’ll get to that update of the cast this week and the invisible army mission. Honest this time.

Stuntboy and his grill

Stunt boy had oral surgery today and came through it very well. He was a bit out of it afterwards. I still stand by the idea that surgeons really just like cutting people up for their person amusement on some level.

Stunt boy is with CPG this week so I’m not sure exactly how he faired the rest of the day but he was still asleep around 4:00 p.m.

His teeth have done all the things the orthodontist has pried them to do with wires, expanders and other torture devices. The amount of work on his teeth has a price tag more than my first car.

There is a little bit of crazy. You can still buy a car for what it costs to get braces and there are those in our government who dare to say our health care system isn’t serious out of touch and completely inappropriate.

Then insurance companies saying that things like braces are cosmetic are hoping people don’t look into periodontal problems many caused by not having teeth which are straight and that are easy to clean. Related to that serious enough dental problems can lead to your death with no other health issues. They, the insurance peeps, are hoping that you’ll no longer be their customer when you need those services and then can deny that coverage too and just pay to have them pulled and pay for dentures.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist but the system isn’t there to help you it’s there to help itself.

Anyway the point is that Stuntboy is hopefully done with the major things too his teeth. Saying that I want to be clear I have no problems paying for or taking him to the appointments. This is an investment in my son, and in his being able to have a healthy smile and in large part a healthy life.
