Can you say witch hunt boys and girls... I knew you could

So there is a lot of buzz going on about Lance Armstrong and the US Anti Doping Agencies allegations against Mr. Armstrong.

As far as I’ve heard related to facts that Lance Armstrong has never failed any tests from any agency including the US Anti Doping Agency or failed any test given to him by any officials from any race he has competed or for the IOC or for the USOC.

Yet for some reason the US Anti Doping Agency and I think more specifically Travis Tygart the Director of the USADA, continues to blare out “We don’t care what the test results say, we know Mr. Armstrong is guilty of some performance enhancement we just know it.” Not an exact quote but I think the sentiment it correct.

How do you know it? Please tell us how you know this? Show us some facts and not the word of some official or team mate who says I know because I saw this or that. Ok where is the proof of these people’s statements. If we convict people completely on the word of others now every one is going to be guilty of something they didn’t do just because someone doesn’t like them or is just pissed off at the moment.

Then there are the few former team mates who say they saw this or that but didn’t say anything at the time. And why not gather up the used needles if they existed that would have evidence of the substance and probably a small amount of Mr. Armstrong’s DNA. Then you could have just turned it over to a race official but none of that ever happened. No one ever came forward during races and said you know what I can’t support cheating.

Ok so why now after he is retired? If you want your sports to be fair and free of doping and performance enhanced abilities, why are you waiting to come forward when there is no proof in what you are claiming and it is so long after the fact that new evidence can not be drawn in the form of a blood test or urine screening.

Many writers and commentators and Mr. Tygart are saying that because Lance is quitting the fight against the allegations this is “an admission of guilt” on his part, because if he were truly innocent he would fight every minute of every day to clear his name.

Really, would he do that?

If Lance Armstrong is guilty of using performance enhancements he did so in a way that avoided hundreds if not thousands of doping tests? Well if he did use and was able to pass the tests well the secret dies with him or he admits it. You don’t have any proof that he did anything wrong.

However without proof how do you have a legitimate claim to continue to pour allegations out against this person?

The thing about this is that we’ve become so jaded as a society that we don’t want to believe that any one is able to achieve anything great anymore at least not with out cheating the system some how. And there is proof of it every day, not just in sport but in every part of out lives.

In the just recently concluded 2012 Olympics more than a few athletes tested positive for enhancement drugs and doping and there was still a fair amount of other cheating going on. From the badminton court, cycling, basket ball, martial arts and others. A side thought however is getting high on marijuana a performance enhancer? I would think it would be the opposite but hey it’s a banned substance so I get it he knew he shouldn’t have blazed up but did, and was banned

Some of it was the use of drugs, doping techniques, stretching the rules to your advantage, playing for position rather than wins and on and on. Our sports have become breeding grounds for lies and very un sportsmen like behavior. In all of these cases there is proof, there is immediate action taken. It isn’t month or even years later and without proof.

So when some one makes allegations against someone we are likely to believe them and given the number of times that someone has said oh no I didn’t do that and then later says ok yeah I did. We tend not to believe the person saying I didn’t do it. But in all of those other cases there has been some tangible proof of wrong doing.

There has yet to be any against Lance Armstrong that I’m aware of at this time. And this isn’t new for years this has been going on. It isn’t like oh now some years later people are saying Lance is a cheat. No they have been saying before he had cancer, they were saying it during his cancer treatment, they said it before, during and after every race he competed in after coming back and was tested, and tested and tested. Surely years of testing for by so many different agencies he would have slipped up some where along the line and there would be proof of the cheating.

Where is the evidence?

How many years of abuse would you take before saying you know what I’m done fighting with you I quit. Because it doesn’t matter what the truth is, it is what you (Mr. Tygart) want the truth to be that he is a cheater so you will continue to make allegations until when? Well until the person just quits fighting because it is such an expense in time, money, mental state and just an all consuming thing to the person who has been accused.

There comes a time when the fighting just doesn’t make any sense anymore because no matter what the out come there is always another fight about the same thing you just fought about.

He knew he was going to be tested. If I were an athlete in today’s world of drug testing it would be on my mind that if I do well someone is going to test me for something. So of course he knew he would be tested

And again if he is guilty and is able to beat all the tests well then that is something that agencies need to look into in testing athletes and if Lance got away with it, how many others have gotten away with it as well. Derek Jeter just had allegations made against him by an announcer who has chosen to make his money by being an ass hat but will Jeter be put through the same onslaught of accusations now. Hard to say but you don’t need evidence anymore to make someone’s life a living hell. You just need an audience and a few people to listen and pick up the torches and pitchforks.

Also what authority does the US Anti Doping Agency have over any competitions or to remove victories? The truth is they don’t have any authority over any sports but once the agency was empowered by the US Congress, who are all as we know very truthful people without any flaws in their characters, the USADA gave themselves unlimited authority to test anyone who does anything with any sport on the planet if they have competed in the US, plan to compete in the US or may think they might like to compete in the US or for the US.

Can you say witch hunters? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck I’m sure it’s a witch but if says it isn’t a witch it’s a witch and if it says it’s a duck it’ is probably still a witch.

All in all I don’t know what to think about Lance other than to say show the public some proof other than he just doesn’t want to fight with you any more because that isn’t proof that he did something wrong it’s proof of Mr. Tygart has started a witch hunt and that’s all and now that Mr. Armstrong doesn’t want to play any more he is guilty

And I will say this if there is proof turn it over to the Tour de France and the IOC and the USOC and then by all means strip every award the man has gotten but prove it first.

However sadly the USADA has chose not to do this and have taken his unwillingness to play their game using rules they made which really ultimately give them the accusers the most of the power and those accused none. This is fair Mr. Tygart? Well I’m sure you don’t care about fairness you only say you do and the more important thing for you to do is to validate the existence of a money wasting agency which is redundant in every way. All the sports you test athletes for have their own testing, they have there own oversights and they have their own rules and authority to ban competitors you and your agency are not needed and should be abolished. You are a waste of tax payer money, you are a blight on the existence of fairness, and you probably aren’t a very nice person but I’m not sure about that last one but I think your actions justify my allegation.

BF3 Premium release rant

So I’m going to rant for this entry, about one of my hobbies. Battlefield 3, which if you are not familiar is a first person shooter FPS video game available on all the major gaming platforms. So if you don't care about gaming you may not want to read this issue.
There are a lot of things to complain about in the battlefield world. Some of them are development problems, some of them are programming problems, some of them are gamer problems and some of them are just problems which I’m not sure who to blame.

My rant is about the developers, programmers, and their marking people. Like many fans of either the franchise or the gaming genre new game generate a certain amount of buzz and excitement and some where along the way the people who make video games figured out if they started having people pre order games then they could save money on manufacturing because they would know how large to make a first run of the game so that they don’t end up with a lot of stock if the game doesn’t sell well after the first few months. It’s a very smart move.

Then they were able to add to games later once they were released with down loadable content (DLC). This saves money because you already have the basics of the game done you are just adding things to an already existing vehicle. Which ,truth be told these were all probably parts that were being developed for the game in the first place but were left out for one reason or another so a lot of the work is already done, but it is programming work and if you can make money on that so be it, which is fine. I don’t have a problem with the game getting a warm up if fact I prefer the warm up.

Then the developers came up with exclusive content which you pay a bit more for but it gives you something that other players don’t have in the game. Which may or may not give you an advantage but it is fun to have if you enjoy the activity and spend any time doing it. It is partly escapist fun so why not give your player some depth of your personality or flavor.

Battlefield 3 is no different than any other game developer out there however they have recently taken a great big whiz in the collective bowl of cereal of their base /core audience.

DICE and EA came out with a premium service which gives those players access to a few things other players don’t have. Some of it helps in game but mainly it doesn’t really it is all just a bunch of filler. But getting to play the games a bit earlier than other players is fun and the premium service was mainly a bundle of the new maps DLCs which were slated to come out over the next 12 months when it was introduced., which was totally worth the additional money to have the game have much more content.

I’ve played other FPS which could have used a lot more DLC which didn’t get any of it and that company is not defunct and they had great games.

So it’s expected by the consumers that the games will be freshened up a bit and it will cost some money.

The whiz in our cereal bowl is that now DICE and EA are making the premium service and all the other DLC and the original game all available for equal too or maybe even a bit less then it was originally sold for less than a year ago and less then 6 months since they asked the original buyers of the game to buy the Premium DLC for just a bit less then they are now marketing the whole thing for in less then two weeks.

To me as a consumer it is a giant F*** you game buyer you mean about as much to us as a speck of dust on our shoes.

You don’t care about the game buyer and you have proven it with that really shitty move. Which really makes the lame premium “bonus content” seem like a double slap in the face, no one really expected it to be more than fluff. Well almost nobody who understands you are in the business to make money from a workable product. Now I’m not sure exactly where making the money stands in the ranking compared to how workable the product is when it is sold but I would like to think the product being the best that it can be is up there slightly higher than the profits and if profits are number two on the list that is ok.

However when you market the “bonus content” as being something to enhance the game and it is a video about stuff that most players have figured out on their own or that many of the Youtube content creators have already explained and explained it better or some other lame thing that doesn’t do anything for the gamer at all. Seriously weapon camo in a gaming system that puts you on a heads up display if you are aimed at or fire your weapon? I mean really how does this enhance the gaming experience? It doesn’t hide us and if certainly doesn’t make the other player shooting at you pause and say oh damn your weapon is so much cooler than mine. In fact they do not notice it a bit.

The thing is they didn’t just give this stuff to you either. You have to do some ridiculously long quest which gives you nothing useful in the game. It is an insult and that our money was just something you expected to get from us and even deserved to have.

Well you haven’t earned that money and you have insulted a lot of gamers and would be willing to be part of a class action lawsuit against the gaming developers for this fraud against the consumers which is really what it amounts to, as the release information was deliberately vague and now offer all the same products for less than the original purchase price it is just shameless and shows the greed that drives businesses to give the consumer less and less for every dollar spent.

I’m not going to stop playing the game but I know I’m not going to buy anymore add on stuff for games and I don’t know that I’ll really buy too many more games from DICE on a first offering because 6 months later it will be half the cost. I’m sure I’m not the only person who fells this way. You’ve really alienated yourselves from a large part of the community and should make it up to your customers in a meaningful way.

I’m just not sure what to think about the whole Lance Armstrong thing.

Well seems that our government is lying down and being whore again to corporate America.

Big Business is acting like it can just pimp slap a few senator and congressmen around give ‘em a good load of money and get whatever law they need to protect their out of date business models.

They say that online piracy is bleeding them dry and they must stop it now before the economy suffers more.

Granted you should be able to make money, but you don’t have the right to create legislation to stifle the person who builds the better business model.

Stealing is stealing and piracy of material that has a copyright is stealing. I get it I understand that argument.

So you go after that person.

They argue that there are too many people stealing that it will cost too much to deal with them all through normal legal channels.

So the real problem is that your business model saw the changing landscape of the digital age and did not do anything to adapt to that landscape.

You know it isn’t like the internet just sprang out of the woods one day and said here I am. It has been around since the 60’s yeah the internet is a hippy that’s why it likes to be free.

But Corporate America is the Flattop no fun guy who wants it all.

The legislation that our Congress and Senate are considering giving into will enable big business to shut down entire sites for misuse of copyright.

So you know those songs you love to share on facebook, well that just got facebook shut down and you are going to be sued for thousands of dollars for misuse of that copyrighted material.

The RIAA, MPAA have tried to sue every advancement in technology out of existence because they don’t adapt their business model

Today a person who has a friend with a talent for directing a well put together music video can get his friend’s band a viral video and then set up a website to distribute that music and or video without the use of the RIAA.

A person can make a movie and have it distributed with out signing with a major motion picture studio.

Then the person owns the copyright to that material and that is the real issue not that piracy is killing their profits but that these industries are no longer providing a service that is needed and in most cases does not provide the consumer with a product that they want to buy.

Itunes and the like do understand a better model. They only charge you for the songs you want. The RIAA has been in constant pissing contests with Itunes because of the pricing issue. Steve Jobs, wanted to see a library of songs available for download that was massive and largely affordable stating that even at .05 cent a song if you sell a million copies of the song it is a lot of money and it didn’t cost you anything in comparison to make it available to mass market like a CD does now.

Just for an example if that million copies sold represents a single person each that is less than one percent of the entire US population buying a song. Imagine if you were really massively appealing and sold like 20 million copies of the song that is still not even 10 percent of the country.

That is where the problem lies, these old business models don’t want to change and they don’t want to share profits either.

The thing is that people are making stuff on their own with out a corporate job and copyrighting it and own the technology themselves.

Used to be to be able invent some thing you had to be working with the corporations and because you were using their resources and their shared technology they owned the product you invented.

It doesn’t work like that anymore and the giant corporations are pissed off, so pissed off that they want to control the single largest communications system in the world, the internet.

The bills SOPA and PIPA will give them the ability to shut down whole search engines if they produce search results with links with possible infringements to copyrighted materials.

Google could be shut down by a CEO of a motion picture studio.

It won’t stop with that do you have a photo of yourself wearing a team jersey from a professional sports team? How about a hat or a t-shirt?

You could be sued for posting that photo because you don’t own that logo and you aren’t licensed to promote that product. So pay us a licensing fee or be sued. But first we are going to shut down your website and anyone who has linked to your website. They may even be sued with you.

This is not a slippery slope argument big business thinks they can control everything they want with the passage of legislation to further empower them to control information and control what you will be exposed to, thus controlling what you know exists and that will be only the things that they own the copyrights too and nothing else will be allowed to thrive.

It is called censorship and it has to be stopped.

Tell your congressman or senator that you do not support SOPA and PIPA that these pieces of legislation do not serve the best interest of a free enterprise system and are wrong. There are legal measures in place already to handle the problems they just don’t give the business the control they want over the business landscape.

Adapt or die used to be the approach to business, you make a better product, you make a better services standard you don’t sue your competition out of existence and then force the passage of legislation that will give you the control to decide what gets to advance and what does not get to advance.

Silent all these...days, sorry Tori, I'm gonna borrow that first bit

Well I had much different plans for the weekend than what actually happened.

Friday my computer died. I really dislike technology for a lot of reasons, chief among these is because it is not built nearly well enough for the amount that is paid to own it. In fact it is really poorly built. As if this is not frustration enough, no there has to be more.

Then a further frustration is the ineptitude of the monkey parade of fools that work on computers and other technological devices. Most of these monkeys know just enough techno babble to confuse you but they have no idea what they are talking about for the most part and can make little or no sense of the binary stuff going on in the background.

I don’t know a lot but I know enough to know if someone took away their little templates of insert board A into slot C and then connect wire E to insert G, they are really just as stupid about computers as the billions of keypad crushing masses who only know that the button with the not quiet full circle and line turns on the box that eats too much money and was probably build really badly.

So Friday I must venture out to the capital of these monkeys and their monument to the inefficiency of our techno world. They think that because they have embraced our collective image of the person who knows all about the voodoo which is the matrix of computer-ese and gadgetry that we will assume that they are god like in their knowledge.

They are in fact a bunch of idiots lost in a maze just like the rest of us. In fact it’s a bit worse than that because if they have to remove a step then got to the left or to the right of the script they are helplessly lost. Mostly the sad thing is that this is the only place that most of these monkeys can even find work.

Sorry our computer says no. No I have no idea what to do now because I have no answer card for that or the computer doesn’t understand what you are asking. No I have no idea what to do at all so I’m gonna say a bunch of stuff to make you feel like you don’t know anything about computers either. (Insert weak employee of the monkey parade smile)

At this point I really want to scream into their simple little moronic faces, “Look you are in the business of customer service. Your job when my face is in front of you is to answer my questions with answers. I will accept a queue of people waiting for service graciously if I can see the wheels are turning with some effectiveness and not grinding away doing ten times the work necessary to accomplish something. However when you look all doe eyed at me and say ‘I don’t know’ and then make no effort to find the answer I want to scream. Then when I ask a question to follow up the first and then you say, ‘well I’m not very good at that’. I really want to say then why the hell do you have this job if you don’t know how to do it in the first place.”

Somehow I manage to leave the store with the major part of my sanity intact and no corpses in my wake or even bruised egos. The inside of my mouth is bleeding though as I’ve literally bitten the inside of my cheek to keep from losing it with one moron in particular.

Now, Just to be clear, I really understand that sometimes the answer is no or not even one I want to hear. I can accept that when this bad news is given to me competently but in a manner which is inane, inadequate, and inept well in the words of the Queen of Hearts, Off with their heads.

Then moron drivers nearly killed me on my way home. That’s another story.

Saturday, I do some of what I want to do but as I’m waiting for the monkeys to call me I don’t want to get to involved in a bunch of stuff. So I make other plans and I wait for a phone call that never comes saying my new computer is all set and can be picked up. I try to call on Saturday a few times. No one ever answers the phone.

Now call me silly but why waste time driving to the store to find out, that the work is not completed and then have to come back another time. That’s why we have phones right? To make our lives less complicated. Just like the rest of the technology. It’s supposed to make us happy and calm and free up all this time and leave us stress free. Was that PT Barnum?

Sunday rolls around and I call again with no answer. I let the phone ring at one point for 20 minutes straight and no one answered the phone, not even an annoying computer voice interrupted the ringing to tell me that my rude behavior of calling the store is important to them and someone will be with me shortly. Nope just ring, ring, ring… on and on.

Customer Service? Finally I was able to get someone to answer and they say well it didn’t say to call you.

Excuse me I just bought a product that was not cheap and had to leave it in the store because some data I needed transferred over. I really understand that a data transfer doesn’t happen like it does in the movies in less than two minutes onto a portable drive stick. I really do get that this is not an immediate thing and I am really ok with that task taking some time to get done. However, when one guy says, ‘We will call you when it’s done then the next idiot says it doesn’t say to call you.’ My head just has trouble comprehending the level of idiocy that this would require.

My first thought is why the hell would you even assume that something that can not be done in a few minutes would not automatically require a call to the customer when the job was completed? Then to not even say I’m sorry we fucked up in a big way, you just say well it doesn’t say to call you. And then offer no other statement. That says you just don’t care.

The solution is that I have certainly bought my last new product from that particular store well chain of stores. I know I can find everything I would buy from them someplace else and will give my dollars to them.

There is so much more to this rant but it doesn’t relate to the utter stupidity of these employees.

In other news

I have better stuff to write about that happened on Sunday. So there is that to look forward to in the next issue.

Babies really shouldn't play with arrows

So Stupid’s day is nearly over. In case you are wondering no I’m not saying it is a stupid day just because I’m single I’m saying it is stupid because it is stupid. It is a meaningless holiday that does more to damage relationships than it does to celebrate them. Now I am over generalizing and I know it, but admitting that there are actually happy couples doesn’t do my rant any service. However think on this, that every relationship given an infinite amount of time will eventually fail.

What I particularly do not like about stupid day is that it is all sort of one side and by sort of one sided mean totally one sided.

Now stupid day isn’t the only holiday like this, most of them are completely one side especially when there are prizes at stake. However in the case of stupid day it really shouldn’t be.

Why? Well it takes two to tango you can’t have a relationship with just one person. Well you probably can but it’s not as rewarding. So why do women get all the prizes? Yeah, yeah, you hardened angry women will say because you have to put up with our crap the rest of the year. Well I ask you this, if you aren’t happy 364 days out of the year give or take and this one day of prizes will make up for it all. Then when the simple 24 hours of bliss doesn’t make it all better then my guess is that maybe there is a bigger issue than the person with whom you are in the relationship. Remember too every bad relationship you have ever had, has one thing in common… you.

Yup, yup, I went there. And before you go there I know the biggest obstacle to my being in a relationship is me. This isn’t about me.

What I don’t get is why all the pressure about the perfect gift for one day to celebrate love. Shouldn’t you celebrate it, every day? And shouldn’t both partners celebrate that relationship equally? Well of course they should but it doesn’t work that way.

The way it works is that the guy is expected to buy a fabulous prize and then get a… oh what is it … oh yeah that’s right nothing. Well not nothing you still have love but if you have had to buy love, isn’t that the same as picking up love on the street corner? Well fortunately it is legal to buy it with prizes and you’re less likely to end up with an STD but still on some level it’s really the same.

Oops, … I did just compare how we play at valentines day with prostitution. What can I say if the shoe fits … shrug. I know it’s me.

I’m just saying if its supposed to be about a relationship it should be about the whole thing not just half of it.

But we are called ungrateful if we notice that we are being ignored, we are told that we are insensitive if you decide not to play the stupid day games, and if you get too into the whole thing and celebrate love with too much abandon we’re too feminine. We, guys, can’t win. However, despite all the ranting somewhere down deep inside me beats the heart of a romantic but if you tell anyone I’ll deny it.

In related news, a bit of beaten wood holds a piece of time and on the prime opus of a moth hangs a moon and a druidic grace, and the daily scent of the ocean reminds me of words spoken twice in whispers, between crushed breaths of evermore.

If you haven’t heard this yet there is a publisher who has already “edited” the text of two of Mark Twain’s books. The idea of pre emptive censorship is the justification of going through Mark Twain’s books Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer and removing two offending words from the text, granted that two words that they are removing from the text are slurs against Blacks and Native Americans.

However, the words are reflective of attitudes and beliefs of the day and that even in that time there were those who did not hold those ideals and could change if they did hold them. Without the words the really important idea that racism and hatred can be overcome is lost.

The idea that we need to save these classic works from being removed from the shelves of our libraries because people only see the offensive words out of context is a notable and worthy idea. However censoring them in anyway is the wrong way to save these books or any other book for that matter. Yes there will be those who read these books in their original state and will use those words in a hurtful ways. The books aren’t the cause of the hate. So hiding the harmful words and removing them from the printed world doesn’t take away the hate behind it. That we teach hate and mistrust and exploit the difference of one another is the real problem. These books do show that mindless hatred and bias can be overcome but not without showing or admitting that the problem exists.
What are we teaching by removing words as being taboo, that certain things are so offensive that we can’t talk about them? Or worse that these things don’t exist and aren’t really problems. This does lead to more intimidation and promotes the words into a higher level of hatred that they will not be said except in cases of extreme anger.

Most of us can look just beneath the surface of our society and see that the real problems still exist, and that as much progress that has been made in the practice of equality of all persons regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, etc. there is still a 100 times more progress that remains to be made. Hatred for our fellow man is alive and well just under the surface we just don’t talk about it. Segregation exists but it isn’t a government practice any more it is still a very active social one though.

The idea of removing words from a book to keep them on the selves is the slope that once done what word is next? Then what topics and ideas are then removed from the books to keep them on the shelves. Pre emptive censorship is just censorship under a different flag and stifles creativity and progress. This will not solve the problems that this hopes to address.

As good as the intentions are behind this effort this is not a good idea and should not be done. And by not a good idea I mean it is a very bad idea, incredibly bad about as bad an idea that could be thought of to address the issue they are trying to prevent. In fact preemptive censorship does the job for the censorship people gives them firmer ground to stand and eroding the principles of free speech in spoken and written form.

I intentionally left the two words out of this writing because I don’t use them in my speech and I do actively discourage their use by anyone who says them regardless of who says the word or why they are saying them. That is the more important thing that the words exist and we have to actively teach people that the use of these words and the ideas behind them are not productive to good relationships and stable societies. Taking and active stance of admitting the problem exists and teaching people to stand up to those who practice any form of bigotry there might eventually be a in road to really reducing the hate we harbor for our fellow humans. We won’t achieve it by sweeping it under the rug or preemptively censoring or outright banning books that hold words or ideas that we don’t agree with

There aren't words enough

There is so much information out there right now on the oil eco - calamity. While BP is the company of this conglomerate of billion dollar entities that screwed the pooch. All of these companies have tossed the dice and are taking the gods of their bank accounts that they are not the ones the world wants to flay.

Hopefully this will open the eyes of the corporate world that taking calculated risks when the impact of a failure is so enormous should not be done until an extremely safe way to do something is found.

All the oil companies need to be doing something be proactive in cleaning up things here.

However, what are you doing as a person to make sure that these things don’t happen. Seriously. Do not just sit by and say oh hey it’s not my problem. It is your problem, it is my problem, it is every person in this nation and every other that just accept the raping of the planet in the name of the dollar, Euro, Yen, name the currency it is all part of the problem.

It just sickens me that we can’t even imagine the impact this is going to have for years.

Life has been spinning at a meteoric rate here lately, I try to put on the brakes but they do not seem to be functional sort of like a Toyota but I don’t drive a Toyota.

I bring this up partly as an example of how it feels like that my life is speeding up and I can’t stop it but also why all of a sudden is Toyota the only corporation which is being brought to the crucifixion?

Seriously, it we are going to start nailing bodies to the cross lets get the greedy robbing thieving bastards of our banking and investment community, some CEO’s and accountants.

To what point? If we are going to go medieval on some asses, bring them all to bare. As in lets lock Bernie in an iron maiden and draw and quarter some trade commission officials who were obviously on a kickback. Public brandings and hangings, stocks on wall street and not the type you buy the kind you get locked up in and people get to smack the crap out of you. Seriously if we are going to go all out on one, bring all the heads to block.

School children and greedy corporate robbers and thieves pray for bad weather.
You can respect the school children for their want because while their hope may be selfish on the surface ask a question or two and they want to play with friends, be with family more, have fun. To drink from the cup of life and be full
The other group you can not respect at all. They are greedy self serving thieves and the only other people they think of in this are other greedy self serving swine like themselves.
Try to paint it with acceptable words like capitalism, trade and commerce and I say hogwash to all of that. They are just banners to hide behind to justify the raping of the masses for their own agenda. They are heinous in their crimes and need to be tarred and feathered and locked in the shackles in the center of town.
Don’t get me wrong here I support the idea of earning money, but doing it honestly ‘
The business of business now, especially with utilities, banking, government and big corporations is no more then legalized theft, rape, assault, strong armed robbery, they are violent offenses leading to a revolution.
The notes in your bills directing you where to seek assistance if you can’t pay your bill are paramount the phrase attributed to Marie Antoinette in the French Revolution “let them eat cake” concerning the bread shortages of the day while those in the palace feasted.
Well those in power are feasting, while those of us supporting them, with our blood (wars), sweat (workforce/labor) and tears (mortgage foreclosures)
The time for allowing shareholders to profit while the masses drown needs to end.
Our daughters and our sons and ourselves deserve fair treatment in the world of business but our local, state and federal government.

I’m not a big fan of a lot of other vegetarians

Why? Well, because they are all judgmental and stuff. Now you could say I’m being all judgmental and stuff on them but hey we all hate on something or someone.

Anyway, I really don’t like that how some vegetarians have to tell any omnivore they see that how meat is murder and the horrible things they do to get the meat to you and how diseased it is, and the steroids and hormones they put in the feed for the animals to make them bigger and grow faster, and all of the other horrible things that happen in the slaughter houses. I could go on but they’ll do it for me.

The thing is I don’t like to be told I don’t have a choice about something. I’m not a vegetarian because I think animals are so much more cute not dead… well the tend to be but that’s not way. Eating dead animals really makes me feel all bleckie. I used to eat it and would feel bad but would continue to eat it.

I get the other arguments, I do, but jumping down someone’s throat about what they are eating by choice isn’t really a convincing way to get someone to stop something they like.

Most people get it that it’s a big process and the produce the amount of meat eaten in a single day in the US …well it can’t be down without some machines, and a big business approach to things ie heartless and uncaring about the consumer just getting the product to market and making cash.

So why be rude about how you choose to live. I don’t make my kids eat the way I choose to eat. They both try a lot of things. Stunt boy likes a lot of the vegetarian things I make but he also doesn’t like a lot of them too and prefers to eat meat. Doodle is the same. It’s not my place to force them to not eat the things they want.

I really just don’t like the holier than thou smug attitude… get over yourself.

I had a whole rant typed up but decided not to post it because of a censorship issue. I really don’t like censoring myself but it starts much the same way each time. So I’m not posting my rant except in a bit piece which is I’m going in to business as it were and I’ll also need to be changing my name to Don Getz as in Don getz phucked. The business I’m going into is the getting phucked over by karma business. Thus end the rant.

It was longer and really well spoken. I know so how unlike me to have that perspective.

moron and orange

So the intent of this rant is not to step on any toes or to say that a certain team is not good. I really don’t have an opinion about the team. None.

However, the mention of the team now makes me want to physically upset. I live in Roanoke, which is close to Virginia Poly-technical College also know as Virginia Tech. VT or the Hookies.

Ok if you are a VT grad or like the team you should probably stop reading at this point. Don’t say I didn’t warn you

Since moving to this part of the world not by choice I’ll add as well, I have endured the constantly growing coverage of the VT football team. It is stupidly enormous how much coverage this school actually receives for football. I swear to you it is daily, not just during football season either it’s all the **cking time. 24/7/365

No I’m not over stating facts here. This area has an unhealthy level of interest in this football team. Some people around here actually seriously stated that Michael Vick was a victim in the dog fighting stuff. WTF? Yes I know that I what I said then and now.

Does that mean the Mr. Vick can’t turn things around in his life, no but seriously he was not a phucking victim of anything except his own bad choices and possible stupidity.

However, the coach is a football coach, that‘s all. He may even be a great guy. I don’t want or care to see him on the news every day of the year.

Then the amount of Moron and orange …. Ah … maroon and orange I mean hung up and worn is equally tremendous in the obsession.

Serious orange pants shouldn’t even be worn by prison inmates because it is a visual assault which I believe can have long lasting effects. Inmates wouldn’t wear them if they had a choice and you do so orange pant wearing guys and gals stop wearing them for the love of all that is holy and sane. Even most sane Tennessee fans won’t wear orange pants. I said most.

Now I am ok with a healthy level of team admiration and devotion but if your team looses it’s not the end of the world and if they win it isn’t the cure for cancer.

Even in Huntington (Marshall land) there is a love of the green team but it’s not obsession they keep the level or they did when I was there, the football talk starts in August and ends when the season ends like in every other place in the world…well most other places in the world I know Columbia and England take soccer to a bit of an extreme but … well it’s soccer. The Brazilians even keep it to a healthy level most of the time.

The bottom line in all of this is that VT football is just that football from a college. They haven’t done anything particularly heroic or brave, or special… they just play football.
Yes it’s a diversion, yes you can love your team, just do it during football season and with inside voices when you are indoors.

I found a soapbox and stood up on it... I'll be getting down now

Thoughts, time, tasks, tedium and other things have clouded my week, past several weeks. That is why the lack of writing. I guess I got back into the whole self censorship mode and that isn’t a good place to be because every word you type, write, scribble is agonized over and how it will be read.

I would say no more but I know how the gear box works, even if it seems like it doesn’t. I just haven’t figured out how anyone else’s works so mine seems to be broken to most.

Too many thoughts is a part of the problem. I want to get it all out of my head and it all wants to come out at once and that isn’t happening because not much gets out. So I’ve taken to writing thoughts on scraps of paper. Have I got scraps of paper now. A few piles. But they are containable because they are scraps.

So I’m going to hopefully start wading into the scraps of paper and getting stuff out of my head.

We focus too much on excellence really and finding the next best thing. I not saying don’t strive for change. We should always be learning and moving forward but we will fall on the way. Everyone will. However, our rules don’t allow for failure.

We don’t allow for good enough. When did that become a bad thing.

Good enough means it works, it performs a function which is needed it does it in a effective manner, it meets the needs without fail.

That isn’t bad. Without fail. That means success. A win. Good enough.

Yet it isn’t acceptable any longer. Good enough won’t do… we need bigger, faster, stronger, shinier, flashier, prettier, skinnier, softer, more absorbent etc.

Nothing is ever good enough.

Not every one can win, that isn’t a defeatist statement. If someone wins someone has to loose. Yin-yang. You can’t have one without the other.

Not everyone can win, doesn’t mean don’t try. It simply means that you aren’t always going to succeed.

We deal poorly with the yang parts of life in this society. We love then Yin (good) hate the Yang (bad).

We learn, hopefully from our mistakes. However, if you are cut loose, kicked out no longer taught after one mistake. Can we get any better? (rhetorical)

We can’t we haven’t and we look at the mess we are in and like a couple of 5 year olds point to someone else and say he did it.

Not she did it

We all did it. From allowing corruption to go on unchecked, to allowing lies to be sold at truth, to putting greed in front of building communities and strength, to always saying what is in it for me, where is mine, to being not caring about the person next door who has been dead for a week and half.

We all did it.

There is no more time for finger pointing. There is no more time for stupid semantics on policies and political belief.

It is time to stand up and say. No you do not need to do this

It is time to stand up and say. No I will not accept this.

It is time to change things in our society and not to just ask when will it change.

The answer is it will change when everyone gets up off their ass and makes it better. Not for money, not for something in return, not for profit. Just to make it better.

That isn’t socialism, it isn’t communism, or any one xenophobic word you want to attach to it.

It is simply decent to reach out and help, to clean up to make things better and not ask what’s in it for me. Because what’s in it for everyone, is a stronger, a smarter, a better, safer, healthier, and all around happier place, town, city, state country, planet to live.

Really? Are you Serious?

While reading a news story today I just had to add my thoughts to what this guy had to say. Chris Packham, who claims to be a naturalist has made several statements which fly in the face of what most of us consider to be a naturalist. Thing one that he has said, the Panda just costs too much to save we need to let it die off. Really? You are a naturalist? Let the Panda die off. It is dying because we, the human parasites, can’t control our own population. If you are living in China or India you all need to stop phucking or use some seriously better birth control or birth control at all. Have you heard of Zero population growth. One year of this would do some much to save so many species.

Panda’s cost too much to save? Hmmm I think some times it costs too much to save too many people.

The panda would be doing well if the people on the planet would sort of stay in one place and stop taking up all the land. We need animals, we need forests and jungles to live.

I’m not done with Mr. Packham’s statements.

He also has said he would eat the last Panda so that money’s could be spent elsewhere?

Now I know I said that eating Ostrich would be ok, you know why they aren’t endangered. I’ve even said eating penguin would be funny because they are already dressed for dinner. But that was a joke. Mr. Packham’s statement wasn’t a joke.

Finally something he has said is that it is impossible to save the Tiger because it’s worth more dead. Hmmm

Really, you say you are a naturalist?

Mr. Packham sounds like he has his head really far up in a rather smelly place on his body and hasn’t seen the light of day in a long long time. The thing is that really stupid stuff like this gets picked up by industrialist and run up a flag poll so that other people who don’t think any animal should be saved if it stands in the way of industrial progress can say see we have proof.

To paraphrase / quote Hancock, “All you all in the this mindset are idiots”

I mean if these animals were dying off because they were doing something on their own to die off it would be different. But people are the only reason these species are dying. We need to change our behavior and do all that we can to reverse the damage we have done.

Yes there are a lot of other social woes that money spent on conservation could do but giving up on these fights is what those who don’t care want to happen. With each loss in the realm of conservation, they win more ground. Then more species die, more of the natural world is eradicated.

I’m not going to say save the earth because the earth doesn’t need our help, people need to be naturalist for people. If people kill off the animals and plants we will die too. Soon after wards too

I would rather show my kids and some day grand kids a real panda or tiger or have them know these animals live in the world. Rather than say yes I remember the day the last Panda, tiger, insert any other animal, died.

Wake up Mr. Packham and everyone else. Do one thing that makes the world better every day. Turn something off, recycle something, use reusable things and it goes on.

Save the world to save yourselves not the planet it will survive all our misdeeds we won’t. If we don’t change someday soon, people will be on the endangered species list

blah, blah, blah and other things that iggy didn't say... no it's not about iggy

Talking to people you find that those talking to you try to find the better thing to say rather than what is actually on their mind. Leaving it up to the listener to figure out the truth. Now I do sometimes in this public forum cloak what I say in cryptic language, double speak and idiom that mean more to me than the reader.

Sometimes purpose of that is that I don’t want people to know exactly what I’m saying because it is more for me to get things off my mind. Other times it is just for fun.

However when you try to say that better thing the person you are talking to can not really reply meaningfully. Then we complain when we get advise which isn’t helpful, that we aren’t understood.

Part of the problem is we don’t always want the people we are talking with to know the truth or the person who is listening takes what you say in a way which was not intended then not giving the speaker a chance to explain themselves.

Listeners have become so offended by what others say they create an environment where no one speaks their mind any more.

I am guilty of this as much as the other person. I do try to practice the idea that if you haven’t got anything nice to say don’t say anything. Peter rabbit principle - also a pillar but I do fail in that sometimes.

But way do we treat those who speak their mind so badly. Well yes sometimes someone telling you about how much they don’t like you with very colorful words and instructions on what to do with things, where to insert them and where said tasks should preferably be completed.

While the horse in hell is probably questioning why you are sweet talking them with a 2 by 4 up your bum aren’t those people allowed to be angry with you even if they don’t have a large vocabulary.

Mostly not, and for those without an expressive gift for language we tack on additional woe or just flat out punish them if they disagree with their opinion or idea which is different.

There is a time and place for saying , what you are saying goes too far. But simply expressing something the listen does not agree isn’t that time.

The truth isn’t always pleasant and sometimes the truth needs to be given slowly

Batman Arkham Asylum is a lot of fun and stunt boy and I have changed roles in the way we play games now. It used to be he would say dad come beat the level boss. Now he has to help me with this stuff. I contend that video games have gotten tougher over the last 5 years but I still need his help.

So I was thinking again today, well a lot of days. Nothing really and lots of different topics from the truly mundane and trivial to the deep and meaningful. It’s all relative. Even truth is relative on the telling. Is it the whole truth?

And if there is an omission, was it an intentional and willful omission or was it an oversight as in missing the forest for the trees sort thing.

Not everything in this are my own words, I am intentionally adding the US Pledge of Allegiance and the lyrics from the Fine Young Cannibals song, Blue. What are you daft man! What in the blue blazes does one have to do with the other and your usual running on about the rodents in your thought processors. Absolutely nothing. Just wanted to do it so I did.

Oh why in general. Well then an excellent question, and it’s because I can. Which is an entirely acceptable as an exercise in writing but in genetics because you can isn’t a very logical or a very good reason to do something. Bad things can happen then. However, with words it just suggests that bad things are possible and later coming to the conclusion that this was a bad idea and not doing anything about it…well not doing anything more that is to say. It sort of save the whole running and screaming while you watch your friends get eaten by the mutant bunny snapping turtle snake thingy. See it’s a bad idea.

Back to the point pledge and song . So why these two things. Well be cause I want to rant a little bit about the state of the state and not Virginia but the state as in the union, as in the whole of it, our nation and not just the Virginia bits.

Do they say the pledge in school any longer? I think they do at least in elementary school. The thing is bogged down in this whole debate about two words well one word … god. Yup I did the little g intentionally … yes that makes me a blasphemer to some I know I have the tag stenciled on me that says I am a heretic. So

This wasn’t the original wording “my flag” was the original, stating some ownership to the nation which is symbolizes by the flag. Why force a pledge anyway. Spies and sycophants are the only people who willing rush to utter a pledge in the first place and you can trust the spies more because at least you know they are going to put the screws to you. The other group well they just haven’t decided when but it might be now or later or some other time and you won’t know when or why or how. But they will once you’re not the flavour of the month any more. You may not even realize you are not the flavour of the month any more when it happens. I like that spelling better thank you very much.

Well my home town is falling down but it’s like a lot of other hometowns dying away and it’s not that that people don’t care but how do you care or fight when it’s take, take, take, and more is taken away. And our leaders divide us up into stupid little demographic groups and say if you are this person, under 35, with an educational level of 14 (means some college) and earn less than 35k and are in a rural area you are probably conservative and will be motivated by stopping abortion, gun rights and patriotic words. However, if you are urban you are for abortion, against guns and patriotic words make you distrust people. Hmmmm.. Bah is what I have to say about that. They spend all this times dividing us up and not doing a damn thing.

I am not cattle, I am not sheep I’m tired of all the poster boy politics and slogan-ism news coverage of issues. The whole time the nation I live in is going to hell in a head basket. Do something. It may not be the right answer but doing something is better than doing nothing and sitting in committee and saying things like well the America I believe in wouldn’t do it that way.

Ok the blue thing doesn’t have to do with political colours or states that word is simply a lyric in the song. Talking about sadness and it fits because the indifference and lack of reality by our leaders is cruel.

And wouldn’t our lives be so much better if the people who were in charge had even a little bit of a clue. I mean really had some little bit of an understanding of poverty and the struggle of the working class in the US, the problems in our educational system, trying to make ends meet on a minimum wage salary.

They all say it’s a matter of choice. Well true but aren’t you same guys and gals selling the “american dream” and putting up obstacles to that path.

Granted I understand the concept of help versus hand out. Give a man a fish you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish you feed him for a life time. Well what if fat cat chemical company dumps all its toxic sludge in the rivers and lakes and kills all the fish? What then? Hmmm. “We the people,” means nothing to the leadership of our nation. We the overlords of the masses is more likely the slogan they abide by. We are not even a democratic republic any longer.

We are a party driven, industry based, and not a very marketable product at the moment. The lives of the average citizen are very much similar to the indentured service agreements of the past and just steps away from out and out slavery. We do make a bit of money but we have to give most of it back not to taxes because our services and goods are not effectively regulated. So We The People are sold goods.

We sell part of our lives, the bigger part to our bosses and government. For what?

For them to suck all the use out of you and then once you make a single mistake they can dump you. Without cause.

We aren’t a nation under god, we are divided, our liberty is sold and justice is paid for. I see it everyday. Yes the system does work in some instances but it is by and largely broken. Our entire system is broken. From the top down. It needs a complete overhaul. Listen to the things being said today and then read the stuff written and said right before we mailed that little thing to George and no not the dimwit from texas he can’t read anyway. The other george from back in the day. We are headed the same way if you listen. We are so divide though we don’t see it. The words too divide us.

Those words, under god, divide a lot of people. They weren’t even added until 1954, same year they added in god we trust to the money. Why?

Because the union of communist socialists soviet republics [CCCP/USSR] stated they were not going to recognized religion and tore down/burned a lot churches and Stalin systematically killed millions of people wiping out entire ethnic groups and languages from the earth. Hitler tried and failed but Joey didn’t fail in this effort.

So in an effort to show them and Joseph who in case you were wondering didn’t give a rats patootie about us or that we were a nation who had religion. We would fall by our own had because of our own greed. I’m not saying communism is the answer or that Joey was a good boy because he wasn’t. But back to the point.

We add it to our money and now money is our god? Well for a lot of us …Hmmmm.

Money divides us, god divides us, our politics tell us we different and further divide us

We are divided … and we will die if it continues… by our own hand.

So lets try to stop bickering and do something.

The president is a citizen he was born here, grow the f*ck up and deal with it, we need a fair and equitable tax rate, we need affordable goods and services, we need better health care today not another ten years from now, we need an educational system which educates our citizens so we can be our own leaders, so we can build our own businesses we can make a better tomorrow. You have to tend a garden to make thing grow in it or the weeds take over and sure a few things will live. But if you tend it more grows, the harvest if plentiful. There is an abundance and everyone succeeds.

We the people, you, me, your neighbor, the kid down the street, the hottie police officer chick in the squad car down the street.. Hey,.. Sorry…. all of us need to stand up.

Tell you leaders make it better. Fix it. Now. Our jobs, our homes, our lives are at stake and if we don’t have jobs it all gets worse.

Do something now and stop acting like a bunch of five year olds in the back seat I’m not touching you with your finger jammed a millimeter away from the other kids nose.

Dear leaders I say grow up, or get the hell out. Maybe we need our own gunpowder revolution without the gun powder. So here it is the pen is supposed to be mightier than the sword write your elected official and tell ‘em what for.

I'd like it better if it had a killer bass line and catchy guitar riff... but that's the pixies thing not mine.

The thing I can’t stand about people who subscribe deeply to some ism or political idea is the utter close minded smugness they display to anything different than their idea. Which really isn’t their idea in the first place it is actually some one else’s idea which they happen to agree with but in reality they don’t really understand the ideology or the ism.

However this does not prevent them from spouting endlessly on and on about how the idea they believe is the only idea in the entire omni-verse which makes any sense at all and if you don’t see things the way they see them, well then you are just an enemy which must be eradicated or worse.

Fear, hate, insecurity, pettiness, ugliness, ignorance, racist, xenophobic, egomaniacal and many, many more words which motivate their cramming these ideas in to everyone’s face.

They make me sick… I want to woof my cookies pass me a barf bag.

I identify myself with an ism but not entirely, I’ve traveled and seen many places, met people who the political machine said were my enemy and I should hate them for their sheer existence. They were just the same as me and probably just as awed by the fact that I was not evil and was just a person who enjoyed the same things I did.

Was I the one who was wrong or are there gapping holes in what the ism and the things that the politicos tell us is the truth.

I mean huge holes, holes so big that you can’t honestly call it truth

It’s lies and propaganda just spun one way or another to make some small person feel big.

The thing is no matter what you believe or how deeply you believe it you will die and you will die alone and either you’ll accept that death is coming or you won’t but it will come regardless.

Beg, plead, barter, bargain all you want death just smiles and says nothing and collects you just the same as every single person who has ever lived, will ever live and that is alive now.

Nothing you think, say or believe can change that truth. So why is it true that ism’s and political ideology try to put people higher than others?

Life is life, death is inevitable … this is not half empty thinking or morbid-ness it is reality

If your ism tells you that someone is beneath you - why does it tell you that? Honestly, Why?

If your political ideology tells you that you are better than someone else - do your really think that? Seriously, Why?

However I’ve figured out some things in my time on the mud ball,
- you can learn something from everything and everyone
- teach what you can
- try not to follow the herd - any herd
- there is a lot of ugly in the world and people make it all… all of it.
- do
- people will see you for how you do things and not what you talk about and what you say you believe
- don’t change, be you, because they will eat you if you try to p lease them
- don’t ask anyone else to change
- if someone talks to you about religion or politics and they aren’t paid to do it then they don’t know what they are talking about.
- if someone is talking to you about religion or politics and they are paid to do it they have an agenda which includes the need for your time and your money if you don’t have either they are not interested in you.


To paraphrase James T’s ex wife this isn’t about you put down your vanity mirror. And thanks to sleaze sister voodoo and all of the other dinosaurs

Blogging

Who blogs, and what do you blog about? It’s a way to get things out there and read (or not), about anything without the approval of some editorial staff. You are your own editor and press agent. Hit print, extra, extra. Now what I or you put out my not be worth the band width it takes up but it’s what you want and if one person. Just one person reads it and likes it then wasn’t it worth it.

Now that the nearly the entire planet is connected the coaxial spike … mmm fixx me

Junkies is junkies and we be geekin for our interweb stuffy stuff. And mostly you don’t have to hang on the street corner to get your bundles of product.

So blogging is now considered to be a thing to actually put on your resume. ???? Hmmm

Really?

I don’t think I want to put my blog on my resume because, we’ll perhaps some selected things, but the thing is I do this for me. Not so somebody else somewhere will be all approving or disapproving.

Now all these some ones with in the 4th estate are saying I’m doing it wrong. I’m not focused I don’t proof read, I can’t really spell that well, I talk to my audience, I do this or that incorrectly.

Hello, (tap on the glass) I’m not doing it the way you want it done.

Why?

Because, Some times I feel like ranting up a storm about some stupid thing, some stupid person has done stupidly.

Other days I feel like ranting it up about some stupid thing that I have done stupidly, making me the stupid person.

Then other days I want to sing and dance… figuratively (hahaha me dancing and singing hee hee… ok better now)

Then still other days I want to be silly, serious, or some other emoting thing

If you are writing a blog as a means to an end isn’t that really unpaid work?

And if you are being graded for it by an industry then aren’t you really just seeking the approval of others and will alter your message depending on what they tell you or say about you.

Then aren’t you nothing more than a puppet on a string…. Yup, yup you are a puppet.

Dance for me puppet. (insert my dancing puppet… I’m a much better choreographer than a dancer, trust me here)

As for me, I know what my strings are and my demons are related to approval of a different sort… I know they are there and I own them and I’m doing my best to bite my thumb at them and do what I wanna do and do it my way… thank you very much Frankie … or Mr. Sinatra if you prefer I’m sure you prefer it that way sorry for being all familiar before.
