Got Crack?

While I'm a vegetarian my children aren't, I'm not making them be something they don't want to be.
Anyway that isn't the point in all of this, the point is that yesterday I fixed a roast for them;
a big roast, taters, carrots onions, mushrooms garlic etc.
I did a pan for me too which had big portabella mushrooms in it for me. yummy by the way.
Well I have two rather large dogs - a German Shepard (seven) and a Siberian husky (kitty)
They were going absoFUCKinglutly bonkers by the time the roast was done.
They looked at me like dude where is the meat man give us some NOW! wag wag wag wag the tails come on man we need a fix. Their eyes were all glazed over.
So the helpful hint is that if you have big dogs don't cook a roast unless you want them to be geeking like crack heads at the end of the day. And yes I did give them some too, and of course they love me, cause I'm cool like that.

HELP WANTED: Humans need not apply, Robots only.

I used to wonder why anyone would ever want to have a robot for an employee.
Now I know why. Robots do what they are told and only what they are told. They don't get curious unless you program them to be curious, they just do what they are told.
If it doesn't do what it's told to do
It's broken and you fix it or get a new one.
Humans however don't do what they are told
They do what the hell ever they feel like
And I'm no different but if I have to fix my problems I know I did it and will say hey you know what? That's my bad let me fix that and if the button says don't push me
I don't push the freaking button.
I may want to push the button
I may even wonder what would happen when you push the button
But I don't let my desire to push the button control my destiny
There is a reason you don't push the button and you know you don't even need to know why you don't push the button.
Like in my job there is a machine that you don't walk up to and push 1 then enter from the main screen.
Why because it shuts down the whole building.
Not exactly a smart thing to put on a machine but hey I don't push 1 enter from the main screen.
WHY?
Because I'm not supposed to do that, that's why.
So if you are reading this and you make robots, hurry up and make them affordable and soon
I need a dozen.

My cousin on the Superbowl... again

Well my cousin was on during the superbowl again.
He was on several years ago in a Toyota ad and now for his new ABC show, "Sons and Daughters" which will air on March 7th.
So watch if you can.

Oh, the joys of parenting.

So a week or so ago my daughter calls me, I can tell it's her because her phone rings distinctive from other phone calls. I glance at the time, it's about the time she would be getting out of school.
I answer expecting her to say something like hey can I go to your house instead of mom's. Instead right after I say, Hello.
She says, "What's the sentence for a class one misdemeanor?"
Well the Hello, quickly becomes HELL NO in my head. But I manage to keep it together and ask the best possible question, Why?
"Just because." she says indifferently.
"are you in trouble?"
No
Are you planning on getting into trouble?
No
Why do you need to know this information
Someone I know hit there Mom
You didn't hit your Mom, did you? I tried not to sound hopeful.
I well it really depends on some things but it could be some jail time to probation or both. Where are you?
At Mom's
OK are you sure you aren't planning on hitting her?
Yes Dad, OK thanks for the info love you bye
Bye

It's only in my head

And it’s one more day living in my life. My absence from writing is one of both time and introspection. Trying to figure things out. Things were easier in the drink and not thing phase. More expensive but less complicated. I didn’t ponder things as much, just pour the bourbon in the glass barkeep and keep ’em coming until you think I need to call a cab.

I’ve been stuck in my thoughts about my past. I’ve forced myself to walk to the edge to get as close as I dare to the darkness and then to see if I could step once more. I know I could except for one thing, well two actually. I can’t leave them with the same sleepless nights and constant wondering and assigning blame to myself.

I wonder what it would take though, what would have to happen to push that beyond that limit. I can hear her calling from across the void. All that we don’t know about that crossing. And it’s one more day and it’s been so long .

So I walk in between living and dying.
And I poured another bourbon in the glass
It won’t hurt as much if I can’t feel it.

New Year

When you are a kid the time of the year that represents the new beginning in your life is late August and/or early September when school starts where ever you are that differs but generally it’s during this time of year. As an adult all of a sudden it becomes January. So as an adult you have to over come 12 to 16 years of indoctrination of changing life at a certain time of year to another.

While you are in school the change is mostly out of your own hands – it just happens. You start a new grade and a new agenda exists and you adapt or you don’t to the changes that engulf you.
Now life sort of begins to prepare you for the calendar changing while you are in college you have the semester changes between December and January but it’s undermined by concept of the school year still being run on the August/September start and May/June ending.

So still you are being indoctrinated to begin change in your life around the end of summer, start of fall period of time. Then after all that the only real changes come from changing jobs, starting/ending relationships, having kids the real things in life. However these things don’t happen every year so we invent these things that we should try to change in our lives in the form of resolutions. But are they really the things that we need to change in our lives? Maybe they are though but maybe we are just trying to cling to something from our social introduction that we need to change things start anew in some way with the changing of the calendar.

However if these are indeed things we need to change why wait for the start of the year? Just make the changes. Most of us don’t break the mold, rock the boat and live out our quiet little lives unnoticed mainly except in our little worlds. Now I’m not saying that the thing in anyone persons life is meaningless because most of us live and die by the things that surround us in the microcosm of our lives. We rarely if ever break out of the shell of comfort that we surround ourselves in and when the comfort that we surround our self in is threatened it becomes the most important thing in your life. So without actually making a resolution I’m going to spend more time breaking out of my own little area of comfort and push the envelope a little more and I invite you to do the same. Rock the boat a little bit, push a button, stand when you are expected to sit, sit when you should stand and argue the opposite point of view just to be different. Anyway happy new year to any and all you read this have a great day and a better tomorrow and play nice in the neighborhood.
