So in the Spirit of the WTF issues this is the text speak issue
Now I’ve been thinking that some of you may be offended by the title WTF so if you prefer it can be WTH /WTF Wednesday.
Now I understand that with the whole limits of texts and tweets that a certain amount of universal short hand is going to exist ie text speak
Hopefully by now most of you know what a lot of this stuff means so if I write
IDK OMG WTF FML BTW U R l8 4 WRK or jk LOL or RFOL you know what all of that means.
If you don’t know what the above stuff means then you are not L33t
Not my problem is not with the text speak it is with the whole transference of text speak into real speech.
LOL being said as Loll like roll
RFOL being said as Rah Off El
OMG as OH EM GEE
WTF as Double U Tee Ef
Seriously people, this is not really language why, why, why?
It isn’t like you have some big secret slang going on here and if you are in a RL conversation f2f w ppl Y R U talking in Txt Spk
Oh and on a related note if you are in a domestic living structure and your parental units / significant other or some other person is in a floor above you or below you and your ability to travel to that person is not hindered by any reason, you should probably go to them rather than send them a text
In other news
The idiocracy of our political representative shouldn’t amaze me any more but it does. Like last night. The president gives his state of the union address.
Then the Republican guy says in his rebuttal, No, no, no, The president has it all wrong what we really need to do is exactly what he said to do but with a Republican in charge.
Seriously, not to over simplify his speech but that is what he ended up saying
Enough all you jack offs regardless of party there are real problems that need to be solved. No one cares how it happens as long as it happens. Because if you don’t have a job and some one gets you a job, you don’t care about their politics
My son has an assignment how is the US like Roman Empire and are we in decline or not. Right now I would say yes and BTW the barbarians are at the gate. WTF ppl.
